Service Description

Ready for the next step? Guided Play is the perfect bridge between beginner lessons and open play. Designed for players who know the basics but aren't quite ready to fly solo, these smaller sessions provide a relaxed, supportive environment to build confidence and gain more experience. During this 2.5 hour session, you'll play alongside other developing players while our teacher(s) circulate throughout the room to answer questions, clarify rules, and offer guidance whenever you need it. It's the perfect opportunity to reinforce what you've learned, get comfortable making decisions on your own, and gain the confidence to join an open-play table. Must have completed the beginner lesson package or have a basic knowledge of the game. Your package includes three 2.5 hour lessons: Mahjong 101: Learn the Basics Get hands-on with the tiles as you learn tile recognition, game setup, how to read the National Mah Jongg League card, the fundamentals of gameplay, and mahjong etiquette. Your current-year NMJL card is included with this lesson. Mahjong 102: Put It All Together Build on what you've learned as you begin playing more complete games. You'll strengthen your understanding of the rules, gameplay flow, and how to make decisions as the game unfolds. Mahjong 103: Build Confidence & Strategy Take your game to the next level! You'll continue developing strategy and defensive skills while gaining experience with different game situations—including how to play when you have only two or three players. No experience necessary—just bring your curiosity! We provide the tiles, tables, NMJL card, and a welcoming environment. All you need to do is come ready to learn and have fun!
